Comparing Le Jetee, the short, and 12 monkeys, the full-length movie
What is the take away from the video?
I have gained knowledge and identified all the aspects and things needed to make a film. As a result, I learned how to write, how to produce, and how to post-produce. I learned that I could be better prepared for future filming.
What good information did you gather while watching it?
The entire production process will require you to budget and utilize the resources you have at your disposal. When editing, cut the scenes down until you can't anymore which will result in the film being reduced to just the most significant parts. The key to making a successful film is preparation. Storyboards are never final; the film may still need to be altered. Stick to a theme and a tone and let it guide the story. If you do not do so, it will confuse the audience. Last but not least, if you don't respect your cast, they may not make it easy to film.
How do you envision this helping you through your short film process?
It has made way for me and my group it has made way for us to establish the appropriate mindset needed to make the film. Not only that it has given us the confidence that we deserve which will all influence our film that much more.
