1.
How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does
it represent social groups or issues?
My product challenges conventions because it shows that when you
go outside to exercise, or to do some form of physical activity. You don’t need
some fancy water bottle or like an energy drink. You can survive with a simple
bottle of water and do what you need to do. I used Zephyrhills water, because
it is probably one of the most hated, and basic brands of water. But I love it,
and I know other people who love it. I wanted to represent people who get
judged for the type of water they drink and use water like Zephyrhills.
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My product engages with people in a strange way. I had the focus
of my video be the actor while showcasing the water bottle a few times. The water
bottle was shown towards the end of the video. The purpose of that was to keep
the watcher’s attention, then show them what the video was actually about.
After I put a little quote about drinking the water and then boom. Commercial,
done. Seeing aa this commercial showed physical activity, it could be
considered a sports commercial; the drink wasn’t a sports drink, so honestly, I
would air the commercial wherever. Like maybe a YouTube ad.
They developed in way where I felt the need to get to the point
all of time. I don’t really know how to explain this feeling, but I just felt
like I needed to get to the next step, ad I was felt myself thinking, “I just
need to get to the point”.
I
brought technology, software, hardware and online into this project by
literally editing and blogging. The blogging had me on the internet looking for
different pieces of media to put for my blogs. While the editing had me on YouTube
watching other people edit. The software was the app I used for my editing.
This entire project was based on software, internet, hardware and technology
all together.
