Research: Commercial Conventions and Codes
I am doing a Zephyrhills water bottle commercial. Normally you'd see someone doing some kind of physical activity and then drinking water afterwards. (Running, playing basketball, going for hikes, biking, etc.)
- They would wear exercising attire, such as joggers, tights, sport bras, loose shirts, and biker shorts.
- Props would be, bicylces, basketballs, of course water bottles, and people.
- They would appear parched, tired, sweaty. Some would look sporty, or like in shape.
- The score would be a nice light-hearted sound, since water isn't supposed to be some hard core thing.
- Convention and codes in a Zephyrhills commercial would be the name of the brand and the outline of the state of Florida.
- In the commercial props aren't always necessary but they do try their best to show the water bottle itself.
- Normally the commercial would emphasize the benefits of the water and where it comes from. They would speak about how clean the water is and how thirst quenching.
