Introduction Blog

     My name is Rashell Broderick, I am a sophomore living in Broward County, Florida. I particularly enjoy the performing arts. I was raised with a dad who was into singing, so I adapted to him always singing around the house and playing so many different types of music that eventually, I ended up forming a bond with music myself. Joining school choirs became a thing that I enjoyed doing, but something I didn't know was that when you know how to sing, schools want you too act. I became accustom to doing plays and musicals, which also lead to me doing dancing as well. I can't dance but I love trying and I love watching Dance Moms. Singing, Acting, and Dancing go hand in had and also make up the performing arts. Which is why I decided I decided to join the theater club at my school Fort Lauderdale High. 

     I attend Fort Lauderdale high and this is my second year. I'm in the Cambridge program, which is a program where you take and pass seven Aice classes in order to earn the Bright futures scholarship. Some may say that, if you're in the Cambridge program then you're smart or an advanced student and I agree. I try my best in school and try to prove myself a much as I can. I am also running for class president in order to try and maintain a healthy relationship between my peers and I. I felt that running for class president would be easy, seeing as I am quite outspoken. I am not the most social person but I am definitely pretty extraverted, allowing me to have full blown conversations with strangers and make as many friends as needed. My ability to make people aware of my presence when walking into a room, when I deem it necessary is a very valuable part of my personality. This is why some may say, that I don't have many friends but I have a name that people know when they hear it. 

    I chose to take aice media studies because in my opinion, media goes hand in hand with the arts. When filming different types of films, whether they're short films, movies, or commercials...You have to act. Since I enjoy acting, I found myself enjoying film. Another reason why I joined this class was for its credits. It's an aice class, and like I previously stated I'm in the Cambridge program, which means I need this credit to get my diploma.

 I really got to work on my blogging. It is very dumb how I keep slacking off from trying to get these blogs done. I also remembered that you’re not supposed to use the word “we” while blogging and that made me so mad. I used the word “we” so many times. I fail to keep you guys updated on this journey, that would be bad. I would cry myself to sleep. But yeah, filming has been pretty delayed and I’ve been trying to get some things together. I mean I already messed up on the filming process the first time and the second time and right now David and I are on the third time and just trying to get it done. By the way while typing this I use the word “we” three times and had to go back and delete it. It’s so crazy how I was just talking about having a trouble with using that word and then I used it while explaining the fact that I use it when I should not. First filming day blog

 Today I started my filming for my water bottle commercial. I feel really confident in my project and I do think that it's going to do well. The person I was filming with was very cooperative and shared a lot of the same creative differences. I am working alone but I did need someone to film, so I asked my closest friend who happens to run track. The sun was hot but my clips were nice. I used some props from the shed out on the field so that I can have a nice video. My main prop was a water bottle but I had the blocks, and some spikes. I also had a sports bag to carry the spikes in and they were really nice. I couldn't  be happier with my project and I hope it turns out nicely and that I can edit this to the best of my ability. I was lucky to run into coach Martin to let me get into the shed and use the blocks because if he didn't, I would've been pissed. Thankfully we got into the shed though. The Motion of The Film

The process of the short film titled "A happy ending" or filming any film would need things like a location, props, actors, health and safety, costumes, a schedule and of course a backup plan. Schedule- As for schedule, we are still working on it. we wanted to finalize all filming and wrap up editing by the end of spring break so that when come time to turn in the short film, we are more than prepared. Location-For Location, we were thinking of filming in thee standard places. A supermarket(Publix), Nyla's house, a parking lot at Nyla's house, an a park with pretty lights. There will probably be other places like down the street but those will all be scenes leading up to arriving at those specific Locations.
